Jag Theraphy

My right arm has been aching for nearly 2 weeks now and is showing no signs of recovering. Mr Friday suggested that I try out Jag Theraphy before I fly off to KL and Japan as I will be using quite a bit of my arms for the next month. Why not I thought? I arrived at Mr Jagadish's house in Sg Akar 10 minutes before and waited for the door to open at 4:00pm. A lady came by shortly after I arrived and did not seem very friendly. When the door opened she went straight in to take a number. As there were only the 2 of us at that time and I arrived first I erroneously presumed that she would have the courtesy to let me go first. Anyway, I suppose first come first served can be practised in more than one way!

Lata was the one that attended to me. I told her about my problem and she rubbed some oil on my right arm and proceeded to massage and rotate my arm in ways that were very very unfamiliar to me. The arm was aching a great deal at a certain point and then I heard the sound "crack". My arms felt all loosened up. It wasn't completely cured but it felt a whole lot better! I
could lift my arm up and down without feeling much pain. Lata said my tendon is injured and I would need to rest for about 2 weeks before resuming my sporting activities.

If you are interested, they have now relocated to No. 4, Simpang 712, Salambigar, Jalan Muara. Contact number is 2343128. Consultation hours are:

Mon-Sat 8:00-10:30am 4:00-6:00pm
Sun 8:00-10:00am

Trying out a new place

I don't know how long its been around but I dined at Palm Restaurant for the first time this weekend. I ordered a lamb dish as usual with a bowl of French Onion soup as starter and chocolate mudcake as dessert.

The service was rather slow and the waiter/waitress weren't really on the ball. I reckon it is because they are new... Alas, my french onion soup never came and by the time my lamb shank arrived I asked for the soup to be cancelled... The lamb shank was not bad as the meat was very tender. The chocolate mudcake had a bit too much fudge although it went well with the caramel sauce.

I had hoped that the chef would make an appearance and have a word with us on the order of dishes as the waiter who took our orders repeated them correctly. Good thing we checked the check too because we were charged for the french onion soup!

WWE night at Canopy food court

Met up with Chin at Canopy food court this week after being enticed by the prospect of playing WWE wrestling on WII. I used to watch profession wrestling during the WWF days rooting for wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Rick Rude, TheUndertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H etc etc. Ah, those were the days. Brings back memories doesn't it bros? Since i never wrestled myself I could as well try it on WII.

We started off with the sungkai buffet and I had:

Wanton soup

Various appetizers

white rice, Jakarta fried rice (spicy!), lamb with mint sauce, vegetable au gratin and beef

The chocolate cake was abit on the dry side but I did have alot of the honeycomb cakes though. I miss the honeycomb cakes that I had at Caroline's place. Yummy!

H was anxious to play so he started off by showing us how its done. Dahsyat the moves he did...

While Chin and i were happily taking pictures. Thanks Wina!

See how much fun H is having?

Look at those hands!

Chin showed me how these little cuffs work

Are you ready for some action?

So now its my turn to play. I lost really badly in the matches because I just couldn't coordinate my hands with the control and toggle. and I had to shake with my injured right arm too so it didn't last very long...yawn.

I picked a guy and H picked a girl and he trashed me straight out! except for the ring out match hehehe.

Then I picked The Rock while H picked Mick Foley. It was looking good for me...and I won!

After a hard fought battle, I needed to make my "victory pose"

While H ponders on his loss...

I decided to quit while I was ahead and to rest my right arm. H and Chin went on to play tag team matches.

All I can say is, they've got alot of endurance when it comes to shaking stuff...

Phew!

Sensei decided to have a mock test for us after training tonight and he pulled a LONG list of questions. Too bad was getting late otherwise we would have had a more comprehensive test. My right arm still feels iffy so I wasn't much of an uke during training and was asked to practice on my jiyu waza. Surprising Chin got really high attacking me continuously! My mind was not really fully focused on training because I was worried about my arm. Sigh...

Oh and luckily I didn't bust my left arm too. Someone had a really "terror" shihonage! Hehehehe.

Below are some of the many shots I took during the mock test.

Sitting it out

It has been a week since I suffered an injury on my right arm. I was feeling good tonight and was hoping to get back into the thick of action. And guess what happened?

My injury flared up...

Feeling restless sitting around with an ice pack and nothing to do, I thought I would do something with my camera!

Showing us the correct way to return a tanto to your uke, sincerely with both hands and blade facing outwards.

Chiong had to nurse an injured heel so no training for him.

Pretty much dead tired after another intensive session. Way to go guys!

Still had ice pack on my right arm but in a more comfortable position.

And the session is nearing its end. Chin and I brought some foodies for after the training.

And Chiong can't wait...

I took alot of pictures that night especially some "dahsyat" photos of our sensei. However I adhered to his request not to post pictures of him because he was not "suitably attired". Hehehehe. It seems that everyone had fun and I am still sitting out on most parts. Frustrating as it may be injuries take time to heal. Better take it easy now or else I won't have a good right arm for Tanabe next month. I am just so so so excited...
